Return to the "Red Rascal"

On august 13 I bought, after the stator from my trusty "Red Rascal" aparently had failed, another CX that recieved the name "Blue Angel". But what's in a name?

Not that much, in this case. A giant overhauling session together with Marcel was needed to make this Angel road-save to my standards. Many parts from the old Rascal replaced the not so good and bad parts on the Angel. Finally, it took me to SJK, and Rotterdam and many more....

But in the long run more and more small defects shows up. Nothing what is a real big problem, but adding it up, and it is a lot. The weirdest think off all, I still can talk passionatly about the "Red Rasal" and there no spark of fire when talking about 'the other one'.

Hence the decision. The "Red Rascal" will be restored to full, riding glory, and after that, the blue bike will be sold, to cover the expences. besides that, I do not have the space to keep two CX-es

Now what to do? I don't have any experience with these procedings. Looking at it, there come a list to mind:
  • Remove engine, replace stator.
  • Check clutch
  • Replace the parts that were put from red to blue
    • Fontwheel
    • Rearwheel
    • Front legs
    • Fender
    • Jiffy
    • Krauserset
    • Exhaust
  • and as an extra ( finally ) adding the Polaris Faering

And mayby a resaonble tyre or spare wheel for the blue one, mayby an old fender or spare jiffy.
Why ?

Why not put everything back together, say nothing and sell it to the highest bidder ?

That is something I cannot do, knowingly sell someone a lesser motor, and say nothing about some hidden, minor flaws that he later will find out....
